Dear Friends,
I love the promise and potential of a brand new year! If the year before was a beautiful one, there’s the excitement of building upon it. If it was difficult, there’s the mercy of a fresh start.
As each of us consider the bright, open-handed possibility of 2026, I’m releasing two new Atlas “sibling songs” this month that explore the tension I feel between gratitude for what I’ve been given and a persistent hunger for more.
Have is out today and you can listen to it here, and Want will be released in a few weeks! These two songs felt like fitting themes for the start of a new year as we reflect on the year behind us and make resolutions for the year ahead.
All this month, I’ll be unpacking these ideas through the songs themselves, two new episodes of my podcast and sharing some thoughts on socials. I’m super excited to explore all of this with you in January as we all take stock of what we have and look forward to what we may want.
Thank you so much for the privilege of getting to write to you. Wishing you the most wonderful new year!
Huge love, Ryan
P.S. It occurred to me recently that since this newsletter is called Letters, maybe it should look and feel more that way? So I thought it’d be a nice time for a fresh coat of digital paint. Behold! A more letter-like Letters!
P.P.S. Here’s a list of things I love right now:
Gentle Resolutions (Eg., rest more, read more, play more, dream more)
This Moment (Watching London fireworks with my family through our apartment window)
This, My Second Life (Read this tender book between Christmas and New Years and it’s beautiful)
Harissa Chicken Field Bowl at Farmer J (So very good)
