Dear Friends,
Hello! I hope you are enjoying your summer immensely! Today, I’m pleased to get to share a brand-new song with you and news of my first ever songbook!
New Atlas Song: Echo
My new song Echo is yours now! Echo is the seventeenth Atlas: III song. The official release date is July 24, but as always, I’m honored to share it with Letters subscribers first!
Echo is the sibling song to Source, which was recently released. Echo began as poem that I wrote in a beautiful park in London. I went home with the idea of writing a full song that was limited to only using the simple lines of my poem:
light pools in the trees
and becomes leaves
and I realize
i feel like every living thing
better off
with some light
with sunlight
with some light
These lyrics from Echo can be found hidden in plain sight in the lyrics of Source. It was so much fun to explore the idea of an echo in the shape of a song, trying to find new meaning in each repeated line. I hope you enjoy it!
New Enneagram Songbook
I am so excited to share that my first-ever songbook is now available for preorder! Play through all nine of my Enneagram songs, if you’re so inclined. The book is beautiful, designed by Tim Damitz and includes all nine of Elicia Edijanto’s brilliant paintings throughout. The music was transcribed by the wonderful Stephen Lamb and Luke Woodard and engraved by Stephen Lamb. As someone who cannot read or write sheet music (I write and play music by sound and memory), I think sheet music is mysterious and magical!
Thank You for a Wonderful Tour!
My Europe tour came to a close a couple weeks ago and I’m still pinching myself. What a dream this tour was. It was my first time sharing my songs in Europe- and my first time visiting most of these beautiful countries. Every single show on this tour was an absolute joy to play. I know that sounds like just a nice thing to say, but I mean it entirely. Every audience was wonderful and incredibly warm and made me feel so welcomed. Every theater was gorgeous and had a bit of magic. The crews were so kind and helpful. Across the board, it was just such a special experience for me. And on top of all of all that, my wife, Cayt, and our two girls, Lily and Iris, joined me for the entire tour! As I type that out, it is not lost on me what a massive gift and privilege that is! These last few months were an adventure of a lifetime for us, and special in a way that I can barely explain. So, to every single person who came out (and made it a sold out tour!!), THANK YOU infinity x infinity. I am so deeply touched and I’m already excited to see you again someday soon. This was truly one of the richest experiences of my life. Thank you!
Side note: We created the “Stars Tee” specifically for the Europe shows and it’s now available in the online store.
